C. water
            1 can tomatoes
              1 bag frozen gumbo vegetables (okra, corn, onion, etc.)

            1 lb. hot Italian sausage
            1 clove garlic
              Tabasco sauce


Brown the Italian sausage in a skillet with oil.  Cut into chunks.  Cut up canned tomatoes and put tomatoes with their juice in a big pot.  Add water, browned sausage, and vegetables.  Cut up garlic and add to pot, along with dashes of Tabasco sauce to taste.  Simmer over medium-low for 30 minutes.  Serve with hot bread.  NOTE:  If frozen gumbo vegetables are not available, substitute fresh vegetables below.

            1 C. okra
            C. onions
            1 C. corn
            C. green/red peppers
