        lb. hot Italian sausage | ||
| Brown the 
        Italian sausage in a skillet with oil.  Cut into chunks.  Cut up canned 
        tomatoes and put tomatoes with their juice in a big pot.  Add water, 
        browned sausage, and vegetables.  Cut up garlic and add to pot, along 
        with dashes of Tabasco sauce to taste.  Simmer over medium-low for 30 
        minutes.  Serve with hot bread.  NOTE:  If frozen gumbo vegetables are 
        not available, substitute fresh vegetables below. | |||
