Freeze Tag
contributed by Ann Mosconi

Almost every American child has played the traditional game of "Tag" during his childhood.  One child is "it" and has to chase the other children until he "tags" or touches someone, who then becomes "it".  One of the popular variations is Freeze Tag, which is a little more complex.  When someone is tagged, they have to "freeze" where they are until another child comes along and "unfreezes" them by tagging them.  When someone has been frozen for the third time, they remain permanently frozen until that game is over.

Under-the-Leg Freeze Tag - An even more unusual variation added the rule that a child had to crawl through the legs of the frozen player in order to unfreeze them.  If the child who was “it” came near during this process, the child crawling through the frozen child’s legs could pause halfway through and was considered “safe” (untaggable) until they continued on out.
